The Shed at Thompson Beach on Ruskin Road was officially opened on August 19 2013 by Member for Wakefield, Mr. Nick Champion MP.
The social hub of our beachside community and central to the Progress Association’s activities, this comfortable venue also hosts all kinds of events associated with local and visiting groups. For example, Birdlife Australia (SA) holds very interesting information sessions here and our local “Crafties” group meets at The Shed most Fridays. It also hosts the (surely by now) world-famous Thompson Beach Potluck Dinners, held every Friday evening.
The Association takes great pride in The Shed! It may look like a fairly standard sort of structure on the outside, but the inside has been very nicely decked out.
