The Thompson Beach Clean Up Australia Day event was held yesterday, with volunteers again doing a wonderful job.
Multiple sacks worth of rubbish was removed from around the township along with larger items including tyres.
While it’s disappointing to see some people disposing of waste in such a thoughtless (and illegal) way, it’s encouraging there are others who are prepared to pitch in to help keep our town looking beautiful – whether it’s during special events such as Clean Up Australia Day, or just generally.
Thanks to those who participated yesterday: Sharon, Jeff, Ian, Jan, Craig, Anna, Emma, Julia, Phil, Michael and Ken – and anyone else who is picking up rubbish around town.
Also appreciated was Kimberly Priest, Face Painting for attending and supporting the event.
Our thanks also goes out to the Adelaide Plains Council crew who were quick off the mark and picked up the rubbish collected today.
