FAIBS Clean Up At Thompson Beach

FAIBS cleanup

A big thanks to Friends of Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary (FAIBS) members, volunteers and NPWS for another clean up effort at Thompson Beach last week.

On Sunday, 15th March, around 20 people joined National Parks and Wildlife’s Ranger Erik and FAIBS members for bird viewing and dunes clean-up.

FAIBS described the amount and range of rubbish collected as “disturbing” – several trailer loads worth were removed from an area at the back of Thompson Beach. Looks like there were a lot of tires among it.

What a fantastic effort that builds on the recent work carried out on Clean Up Australia Day.

But as FAIBS notes, we all look forward to a day when this type of activity won’t be necessary. Let’s hope that day actually comes.
